This
1981 album by ELO has been considered as the last truly great album from
ELO. Time is set at the end of the 21st Century and can be seen as a
futuristic concept album years ahead of its time.
This
was a pivotal album for Steeleye Span. It was Maddy Prior's last recording
after over two decades as the lead singer and focal point of the long-lived
British folk-rock supergroup and reintroduced her replacement, Gay Woods.
Conceived
in a prisoner of war camp in World War 2 Germany, Messiaen somehow managed
to convey both hope and hopelessness in the eight perfect movements of
this work.
The
late Sir Michael Tippett wrote 'A Child of Our Time' early in WW II including
the text, after T. S. Eliot, whom he had asked to supply the libretto,
told him that Tippett's own outline was sufficient for the task. The
narrative of the cantata is about a Polish boy living with relatives
in France after his parents had been killed by the Nazis who himself
then shot and killed a German official in 1938. He was imprisoned by
the French government but that apparently wasn't punishment enough; in
reprisal for the act the Nazis carried out the horrific 'Kristallnacht.'
Tippett's text is not a simple condemnation of the Nazis, but rather
it explores the complex psychological issues on both sides of the question
of whether the boy's act was justified.
This
is the fourth track from British progressive rock band Pink Floyd's 1973
album, Dark Side of the Moon, and the only song on Dark Side of the Moon
credited to all four members of the band. It is noted for its long introductory
passage of clocks chiming and alarms ringing. The song is a memento mori
describing the phenomenon in which time seems to pass more quickly as
one ages, often leading to despair in old age over missed opportunities
of the past. Click on this YouTube link to watch an amazing performance

I met a man whose name was Time
He said I must be going
But just how long ago that was
I have no way of knowing
Sometimes I want to murder Time
Sometimes when my heart's aching
But mostly I just stroll along
The path that he is taking

Cuckoo Clock 3D looks as if 4 original wooden clocks grow out of a huge old tree. There are 4 amazing cuckoo birds living in their small clock-houses on this big fairy tree. They peek out at each whole and half hour and sing their song. The picture is different in the day and night: you can see the wonderful forest lit with the daylight, amazing birds and butterflies, while during the night fireflies will twinkle on your screen. The sounds change also, depending on the time of the day.
If you can create the simplest of screensaver clocks then we have a collaboration opportunity that you may be interested in. Contact us via the ‘Contact us’ button on the left of the screen.
